Wuchshöhe 0,28-0,74 m, bulbo, 1,5-12,7 cm lang und 1-2 cm im Durchmesser, Blätter linealisch, 4-24 cm lang und 0,1-0,9 cm breit, Blattränder papillös.

Der Blütenstand wird 0,28-0,64 m hoch, Blüten variabel angeordnet, 18-28 mm lang, Blütenfarbe verschiedenartig.

Polianthes multicolor wächst im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Guanajuato in 2200-2400 m Höhe.

Polianthes multicolor ist nahe verwandt mit Polianthes geminiflora, gleichwohl werden Unterschiede der Blütenstruktur und der Verbreitungsareale deutlich (Solano & Dávila, 2003, 120).
